RAMA SYSTEM
The RAMA number plate recognition system is Equinsa Parking’s vehicle identification module, automating vehicle identification at car park entrances and exits while enhancing security and control and delivering a smoother user experience.
RAMA is the automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system integrated into Equinsa’s car park management platform. Its main function is to read each vehicle’s number plate, link it to entry and exit movements and, where applicable, associate it with the customer’s ticket or payment method.
By working seamlessly with the car park management software, RAMA provides greater control over parking operations. It helps reduce fraud, simplifies incident resolution and improves the traceability of each parking stay. It also provides the foundation for ticketless experiences and automatic payment models based on number plate recognition or mobile apps.
The system is based on a fanless industrial PC with solid-state storage, running Windows and the automatic number plate recognition engine. It manages lane cameras to capture high-resolution images and record video footage associated with each entry or exit event.
The Equinsa RAMA SENSE licence integrates the system directly with the parking management platform, including video software for image capture, recording, storage and file retrieval. It can also optionally control analogue cameras via a video capture card, making it adaptable to different installation configurations.
In day-to-day operation, RAMA links each number plate to the corresponding ticket or transaction, making it easier to verify exits, locate parking stays by number plate when a ticket is lost and prevent fraudulent ticket-swapping practices. It also provides the foundation for automatic access for season-ticket holders, property owners and users linked to a credit card or mobile app.
